Andrea Waldo began riding at the age of 6. Her first horse gave her an education in the importance of a good seat—mostly by bucking her off a lot. She learned to stay on but also gained a strong belief in the importance of the right match between horse and rider.

She began eventing in 1993 and has trained horses through the Preliminary level; her goal is to compete her horses at the Advanced Level. She has been teaching riding and horsemanship since 1996. While she enjoys having her students compete, she most loves to see students of all levels accomplish their goals and have a great time in the process. She actively pursues her own learning by training regularly with Denny Emerson, John Bourgoin and Lindle Sutton, as well as attending clinics and seminars whenever possible.

Andrea lives in Monkton with her husband Eric and their two pugs, Snufflufagus and Pippin. She spends her free time cooking, attempting to garden and helping Eric remodel their fixer-upper home.
